This beautiful quote aptly describes my joy of interacting with space, deciding on the balance of interior and exterior space, making life in these spaces felt by leaving hints of a particular existence, in a variety of histories, but above all concentrating on an aesthetic of the performative, of quick transformation, both in my stage and my film work, as well as pieces in public spaces. A main topic in my work is the transformation of 3D - into 2D-rooms and vice versa.
I don’t focus on realistic representation, but on the pleasure in creating “dreamed up real spaces”.
I try to stay away from repetition. I aim to strive for uncharted territory. Every project has it’s own life, it’s secrets, and it requires it’s own language and form. This I approach like an archeologist, unearthing stages of human development.
I was born and raised in Leipzig. I currently live in Vienna and work for various theater- and filmprojects, both in Austria and the rest of Europe.
